About Me

I’m Fiona, a certified coach and runner. Let me introduce myself and share my story as both a coach and a running enthusiast.

As a coach. It is my belief that no-one knows you better than yourself – what motivates you, what challenges you, your commitments, your priorities. As your coach, I’ll help you find answers to your challenges, identify and overcome obstacles, and support your journey from where you are to where you want to be in the most effective way for you.

Running changes lives, and each runner is unique. So is my approach. I tailor my coaching to fit your specific needs and goals. I focus on helping you develop the mental resilience you need to achieve your running goals because mindset is the key to success.

My clients have successfully achieved their goals, from changing daily habits to working towards long-held aspirations.

I certified as a coach, which means I have qualifications and training, but I also have the lived experience of a runner. This powerful combination allows me to connect with you on a deeper level.

As a runner. I am an everyday runner with over 20 years of experience. I know what it’s like to struggle with consistency and face mindset challenges. I approach running from a non-elite perspective, and specialise in helping you fit running into your life, especially when it’s difficult to make it a priority.

I’ve been where you are. Inconsistency plagued me – I frequently deferred race entries, struggled with regular training, and kept getting injured because I didn’t understand what I was doing. I spent more money on deferring races than actually participating in them.

My turning point came in 2017 when I lost 23kgs. During this time, I approached running in a way that suited both me and my lifestyle. As a result, I was finally able to find consistency in my training. Although I’ve since settled at a maintained weight, gaining back 6kgs, this period was the catalyst for my transformation as a runner.

2020 became my breakthrough year. After unsuccessful attempts to ‘Run the Year’ in 2018 and 2019, I finally succeeded in running 2020 miles in 2020. This challenge taught me more about running than my previous 20 years combined. It was when running transformed from something I did to part of who I am.

Today, I run consistently with a mindset that drives me to improve. I’ve maintained multiple running streaks (at least 5K daily) – my first lasted 90 days, then 100 days, and my current streak has been going since February 2021. I’ve progressed from a 2:40 half marathon time to 2:04, and I’m now working toward breaking the 2-hour barrier. Most importantly, I’ve come to love running and enjoy setting new targets that challenge and excite me.
